American Lifeguard Association New Waterfront Lifeguard Training Video

We highly value your support regarding our national lifeguard training programs. We want to inform you that, although our training programs have been comprehensive thus far, we have not included an add-on waterfront module until now. Instead, we require employers to provide additional training for their staff members who will be working in waterfront areas. Typically, this training is conducted through either orientation or in-service training provided by the employer.

However, we are pleased to share that we have recently developed a free waterfront training video through the utilization of a national grant. This video aims to enhance the safety of the general public not only during this summer season but also in the future. We released this video on July 4th to coincide with the holiday and increase water safety awareness.

It is essential to note that, according to national standards, it remains the responsibility of the employer to ensure that their staff members meet specific program requirements and comply with all national standards and regulations. Additionally, lifeguards and aquatics staff should verify their proficiency in rescue and emergency procedures that are specific to the particular aquatic areas and activities they will be overseeing.
