We all look forward to summer and having fun in the warmer weather, but it can also be a dangerous time. Rossen Reports is breaking down three major dangers that you need to be aware of in the Summer Safety Guide.

The color of your child’s bathing suit could be what saves their life. In a crowded pool, lots of kids are swimming and splashing around. While it might be easy to see them swimming above the water, experts say spotting a kid at the bottom of the pool can be made difficult based on the color of their suit.

Alive Solutions is a company that specializes in aquatic safety. It studies what colors are like camouflage underwater. Click here to check out the entire post of the study. The pictures are really important to see.

  • Best colors to wear in a light pool bottom are bright and contrasting colors like neon orange and neon pink.
  • Best colors to wear in a dark pool bottom are also neon colors like neon yellow.
  • Worst colors to wear are light blue and white because they tend to disappear in the water. Blues match the pool bottoms and should never be worn. White can be confused with a cloud’s reflection.
  • Dark colors are also a huge “don’t.” Lifeguards say grays, blues and blacks can be confused for piles of dirt, leaves and debris. Grays can really be mistaken for shadows, too.
  • Best colors to wear in a lake are neon yellow, neon green and neon orange.
  • Worst colors are anything dark. While white did show up under the water, it could easily be confused for a reflection of light.

New this year, Alive Solutions also studied patterns on swimsuits as well. Click here to read that study. Here are the results:
